March 2012 – Perth

Well what a Month it has been with some events we would have preferred not happen at all!!  Oh to get back to traveling with no dramas!

Tui has now been to the specialist about his shoulder and has a 16mm tear which needs an operation.  We have both had Income Protection for some time to cover us in an event such as this, however AIA Insurance have decided to reject our claim, stating that they deem it to be an existing condition.  We have decided to fight this decision so fingers crossed! Phone call today and the operation is scheduled for the 16th April.

We managed to score a job Tiling the Bindi Bindi Community Hall, thanks to Pete for the contacts and for letting us camp on his farm.  A full on week with Tui doing all laying of the tiles and Jude being the gopher and carting them etc.

Once we had all the tiles glued and just the grouting to do it was a mad dash back to Perth as our “Tenants from Hell” were being evicted following a court order. They were grossly in arrears with the rent and when we were finally allowed into the property we got the shock of our lives.  What a mess!!  Broken doors, smashed windows, stolen Air Conditioning Unit, filth and rubbish etc. everywhere.  Do NOT ever rent your property to Bronwyn Banfield or Chris Costar!  They are bad news and have a history of destruction and bad debt!

We raced back to Bindi Bindi to finish off the grouting of the tiles and then back again to clear out the rubbish, ready for Bulk Collection.  On our arrival at the Rental we got a lovely surprise.  Tracy, Carrie, Hayden & the boys had worked their butts off and had most of the rubbish out on the verge. Really appreciated it guys, thanks!! We spent all Saturday morning finishing off and pruning trees etc. with the help of Tracy, Hayden & boys and Paul, then back to our place for lunch, a swim and a few much deserved drinks. Think it was about 7.30pm that we crashed on the couch!

Below are some photos of the property before and after having them in our property.

There are many more photos but you can get the gist of what we found.  Actually the photos don’t really show how bad it was. Insurance assessor tomorrow!!

Where to from here?  Well another phone call from Bindi Bindi today, possibility of work next week. We will keep you posted as our plans still seem to change on a daily basis.  As you can imagine it has been quite difficult to adhere to our catch phrase, but we are trying to “Laugh more, live longer”

Catch ya next time!!

  1. Hey there Jude & Tui,
Sad to say there are people out there who don’t respect other people’s hard earned property. I’m renting my Mosi Park house out – so far so good! You guys still in Bindi Bindi hey! If you ever catch up with Rob Wood say hi from me – went to boarding school with his lovely daughter Tresna. We are still on the Gold Coast and Clinton has finally found some IT work as a computer consultant – took a bloody long time… Love to you both. I certainly DON’T miss the WA hot weather…but I do miss my friends – thank god for the internet! Here’s lookin at you kids! 😉 Love Sue

  2. 2016 and nothing has changed. 4 trailor loads down the tip including needles. Wish i saw this before they rented for 6 weeks. No rent no respect. Faking ilnesses.

  3. May I just say what a relief to discover a person that genuinely understands what they’re talking about online.
You actually understand how to bring a problem to light and make it important.

More and more people should read this and understand this side of
your story. I was surprised you’re not more popular given that you most certainly
    have the gift.
